Leaders of the Free World's major industrial nations held their
annual summit this year in Williamsburg, Virginia. They pledged to
promote a "sustainable recovery" in the world's economy
and strongly supported the NATO alliance with regard to nuclear
weapons deployment. Below t he surface, however,
