“The World to Come”
While exiled on the island of Patmos, the Apostle John saw in VISION “The World to Come” (Hebrews 2:5):
 “And I saw a New Heaven and a New Earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. . . .”
Continued from 1-20-12
In this writing I am incorporating the first three areas of the nine that was listed in the previous writing:
1) Before Time Began, God and the WORD
2) The Creation of Angels
3) The Creation of the World
Before the Beginning — there was GOD and the WORD
God reveals Himself and the WORD through the Holy Bible to mankind:
 Isaiah 57:15 “For thus says the High and Lofty ONE who INHABITS ETERNITY, whose Name is Holy: ‘I dwell in the high and holy place . . .’”
Psalm 104:1-2 “O LORD my God, you are very great: You are clothed with honor and majesty, who cover Yourself with LIGHT as with a garment. . . .”
Is there an area of space in heaven in which God and the Word at that time dwelt, and continues to dwell? Scriptures implies there is. Further, the Psalmist writes there is a city of God:
Psalms 48:2 “Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the CITY of our God, in His holy mountain. Beautiful in elevation (margin: height), the joy of the whole earth, is Mount Zion on the sides of the earth.”
Though this Scripture is dual in meaning it nevertheless strongly implies God and the Word dwelt in Their beautiful city before the Creation of the Universe, the earth, and the angels. Consider the writing of the Apostle Paul:
Hebrews 8:5 “Who serves the COPY (PATTERN) and SHADOW of the heavenly things, as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the Tabernacle. For He said, ‘See that you make all things according to the PATTERN you on the Mount.”
Moses was to make the COPY according to the ONE in heaven – the Temple of Solomon was built according to the same plans that Christ gave to King David. A miniature type of the Holy City to Come, New Jerusalem (Revelation 21). There will be no Temple in that CITY to Come, for as the Apostle John wrote: “But I saw no Temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its Temple” (Revelation 21:22).

WHERE DID St. Valentine's Day come from?
You might suppose school teachers and educators would know. But do they? How many of you were ever taught the real origin of Valentine's Day? -- were ever told in school WHY you should observe the custom of exchanging valentines?
The Silence of Educators
Teachers are all too often silent about the origin of the customs they are forced to teach in today's schools! If they were to speak out, many would lose their jobs!
Isn't it time we examined why we encourage our children to celebrate St. Valentine's Day -- when it is never so much as mentioned in the Bible as a practice of the New Testament Church?
 Today, candy-makers unload tons of heart-shaped red boxes for February 14, while millions of the younger set are annually exchanging valentines Florists consider February 14 -- St. Valentine's Day -- as one of their best business days. And young lovers pair off -- at least for a dance or two -- at St. Valentine's balls.
Why? Where did these customs originate? Where do we find any such practices in the Bible? How did we come to inherit these customs?
A Christian Custom?
Did you know that centuries before Christ, the pagan Romans celebrated February 15 and the evening of February 14 as an idolatrous and sensuous festival in honor of Lupercus, the "hunter of wolves"?

We currently provide a live Internet broadcast of our services, which are held on Saturdays at 11:00 am Pacific time (PST). The broadcast is only available during this time. Note: Holy Day Services will be at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm Pacific Time (PST). If you would like additional information, or need to contact us concerning the link, please E-mail us here.
Check out our online Meeting Room. An Audio broadcast of services should be streaming at 11 A.M. PST. Someone will be in the room by 10:30 to help. Bible Study Friday at 5:30 P.M. PST Room open at 5 P.M., Bible Studies will begin again on a weekly basis starting on October 23, 2009.
