PASTOR GENERAL'S REPORT, April 11, 1980
Page 4
My wife kept saying again and again, "There must be a mistake-
there must be a mistake." So we checked and rechecked our figures
only to realize that the Living God has kept His promise recorded
in Malachi 3:10.
--Mr. & Mrs. David Whitney (Mount Vernon, NH)
Concerned By End-time Events
My heart is heavy about the things going on in the world. I look
around me and see it on T.V.--the pain, heartache and sorrow. I'm
afraid of what will happen to us if we don't stop this unhappiness.
The men of this decade act like little boys playing with our lives.
Why are they putting innocent people's lives on the line? They are
not God and they don't have that right. When you look at T.V. all
you can see is different men saying different things. I don't
believe they want peace, only power.
--Mrs. Alfredia Kemp (Waycross, GA)
We just don't have much time left to do the Work God has given us to
do. When I think of all that has happened in the world just the past
couple months, I sometimes wonder if we are going to make it through
the first year of this new decade. It sure doesn't look good for the
U.S.A. But as was brought out in the Sabbath services today, when
we [the U.S.] no longer have God's protection and blessing what can
we expect? One bright note though, we can't be far from that wonder
ful world of tomorrow, can we?
--Therell Hoblet (Covington, OH)
I was walking down the street the other day. As I was walking and
listening to what people were saying, I thought of this neighborhood
and this city, Jacksonville, and this world in the light of God's
Church, God's laws and God's ways. I realized something in a much
deeper way than ever before. With all of the crosscurrents of
society that are affecting people now, very soon people will be
coming loose from their traditional moorings completely. All it
would take would be a short period of chaos and instability for
this to happen. Normal "good Christian" people would forget their
upbringings and values and try to fend for themselves, no matter who
they had to step on or hurt.
--Paul Kurtz (Jacksonville, FL)
It is the TRUTH! People take sin so lightly. I was beginning to
think something was the matter with me. People would try to push me
into situations.
I do not have a boyfriend because I am not for free
sex. I am not loose. I don't smoke dope and rarely drink--never to
excess. I am glad to hear someone takes sin seriously!
