PASTOR GENERAL'S
REPORT
TO THE MINISTRY OF THE
WORLDWIDE CHURCH OF GOD
VOL. 4, NO. 32
PASADENA, CALIFORNIA
TRANSFERS BETWEEN PASADENA
AND BIG SANDY
by Herbert W. Armstrong
AUGUST 6, 1982
Due to the necessity to devote much of his time to travel in South
America, in conducting the Spanish Work, Mr. Leon Walker has requested that
he be freed to devote his entire time to direction of that important phase
of the Work.
Plans now are for stepping up operations in the Spanish
Department.
Mr. Les McCullough is being moved to his former position as Deputy
Chancellor of the Big Sandy campus.
Dr. Don Ward will move for one year to the Pasadena campus, teaching
classes. Dr. Ward has spent only one year at Pasadena Headquarters, and
that was before Ambassador College was put back on track as GOD'S College.
Today there is a very different atmosphere on the Pasadena campus.
For this one year Mr. Richard Ames will be transferred to the Big Sandy
campus.
Also for one year__there will be a faculty exchange between Mr. Ron
Kelly and Mr. Larry Salyer will act as Dean of Students at Big Sandy. Be
sides teaching, Mr. Kelly will serve with the editorial staff of The PLAIN
TRUTH and The GOOD NEWS.
For years there was no local Pastor serving exclusively in that func
tion at either Pasadena or Big Sandy. All preaching was done by those hold
ing other positions at Headquarters or on the faculty.
Recognizing the
need for a full-time pastor at Pasadena, Mr. Dean Blackwell was given that
office more than a year ago. The same situation has obtained at Big Sandy.
Consequently Mr. Burk McNair is being moved to Big Sandy to become Pastor of
the churches at Big Sandy (largest congregation outside of Pasadena), and
at Tyler.
