PASTOR GENERAL'S
REPORT
TO THE MINISTRY OF THE
WORLDWIDE CHURCH OF GOD
VOL.6, N0.33
PASADENA. CALIFORNIA
REPORT FROM THE TREASURER'S OFFICE
AUGUST 3, 1984
The July income turned out to be better than expected. Even though the
month started off rather slowly, with less income than last year for sever
al days, the month ended with 16.8% more than July a year ago. This nice
increase brought the year-to-date income up three-tenths of one percent, to
14.8%. As a comparison, I was just looking over recent years and noted that
July 1983 ended with a year-to-date increase of 12.5%, and July 1982 ended
with a 7.6% increase year to date. This year, then, is quite improved
through the month of July over the last two years. However, the month of
September and a part of October are still projected to be difficult finan
cially, although the recent trend has helped projections considerably.
In Mr. Armstrong's recent letter to members and co-workers, he gave details
of the tremendous increases in response we are having. The large increases
in subscriptions and literature requests, of course, cost a lot of money.
Thankfully, the comparatively smaller increases in income have been suffi
cient to take care of this added expense, but the departments are really
pressed in many cases to take care of the requests or to supply the services
within the current budget.
There has been a considerable increase in new co-workers and donors. Even
though their numbers have increased, the amount of money they have contri
buted has not increased proportionately. It seems that such contributors
are giving less per person, while at the same time, the members are giving
more per person.· I hope all of you will continue to pray urgently that God
will greatly increase the number of co-workers and donors and their contri
butions to help take care of the increased need.

Update From London
The second International Publishing Conference at
Elstree House (the British Office) was opened by Mr. Armstrong on Monday,
July 2nd. He gave a powerful talk on present world conditions, especially
te economic situation.
Mr. Armstrong emphasized that we are involved in a work of faith, that we
don't hold great financial reserves, and we must always rely on God to pro
vide our needs. He laid great emphasis on teamwork and unity, reminding us
that this is the work of God's Church and that we are responsible to God for
our actions.
He warned against selfish ambition, which has been a
stumbling block to some in the past.
The conference was an ideal opportunity for Editorial and Publishing teams
for the international areas to get together and discuss topics of mutual
concern. Magazine production schedules and editorial content were among
topics covered.
