PASTOR GENERAL'S
REPORT
TO THE MINISTRY OF THE
WORLDWIDE CHURCH OF GOD
VOL. 8, NO. 27
PASADENA, CALIFORNIA
SEPTEMBER 30, 1986
Dear Ministers,
This is the last issue of the •pastor General's Report• you will
receive before this year's Feast of Tabernacles.
I want to take this
opportunity to encourage each of you to make this the best Feast ever 1
This year we are one year closer to the actual fulfillment of the--rill
Holy Days. One year closer to the return of Jesus Christ, to the binding
of Satan the devil, to the establishment of the Kingdom of God on earth
and the commencement of the thousand-year reign of Christ, with His
saints, over all nations 1
Let's prepare well mentally, physically and
spiritually for our God-given task of inspiring, teaching and encouraging
God's elect at this most important time of year.
Let your enthusiasm for the Feast and its wonderful meaning be infec
tious. You, in a sense, are God's •spark plugs.• Your example of right
eous, God-filled zeal for keeping the Feast will be a great source of
inspiration for the brethren. The Feast is a time to rejoice! To rejoice
within our own families and within the family of God. It is a time to
share our blessings, our food and our earnest conversation with one
another in the Body of Christ. And of course, it is a time for you minis
ters to be able to spend some time with one another as you are not often
able to during the course of the year--a time for iron to sharpen iron.
As I mentioned a couple of issues ago, be sure to pray for one
another's sermonettes and sermons, as well as for the Festival coordi
nators, songleaders and all the various department personnel who see to it
that the Feast runs in a smooth, organized manner. God's army is a team.
We all have our part to play and we need to support each other. Remind
the brethren in your local congregations about these principles and the
need to follow instructions and cooperate so that the Feast of Tabernacles
will fulfill God's instruction in I Corinthians 14:33.
As you are aware, Mr. Ellis La Ravia was recently granted a leave of
absence. This has made necessary the appointment of certain new adminis
trative responsibilities of which I feel you ministers need to be made
aware. Mr. David Hulme has been appointed Vice-President of Ambassador
