find constant
use for your excellent articles in
The
PLAIN TRUTH. The academic world
readily accepts the material presented in
each article, as the documentation is
so
complete. Whether one agrees or disagrees
with the facu presemed, insight is always
gained on d1e various subjects.

"Your May
1971
issue of
The
PLAIN
TRUTH had an error.
lt
concerned the
artide oo the European Common Market
by Gene Hogberg.
lt
was probably a
printing error. On page
12,
you mention
Iceland as a potential member. I'm sure
you meant Ireland and hope other readers
realize this."

"The civil war in East Pakisran has

with which thc East Pakistani civi1ians are
being intimidated and massacrcd is nothing
short of planned genocide.
"Newspaper accounts and articles appear–
ing in periodicals and journals paint a
tragic picture of the refugees hudd1ed
together in overcrowded camps with almost
negligib1e sanitation facilities. The rapidly
spreading cholera epidemic has a1ready
taken a toll in thousands of lives. Surely
not every account of the violence and

"The Surprising Orig in
of Modern Education"
"I have just finished rcading your arti–
de entitled 'The Sucprising Origin of
READERS SAY
Modero Education.' And l consider it one
o f your most beautiful articles, possibly
because it contains sorne relevance to me.
I
am
soon to be 1eaving high school and
I
desire very much to enter sorne college
or university. Yet something troubles me
very much. While all of the colleges that
1
have wriuen to assure academic success
for mose that work hard,
I
fai1 to find
one that will offer me 'peace of miod.' "

"I'm wntmg this letter in reaction to
your artide, 'Tbe Surprising Origin of

I

will
soon have a masters

" Our Shocking Character Drain"
"Yout artide, 'Our Shocking Character
Drain' appearing in the June issue of
The
PLAIN TRUTH is one of the very
best
I
have read on this subject.
It
is
superb. But since we are a positively
shock·proof, 'nothiog reaches us' society,
I
am
not sure mat your artide will be
as productive as it shouJd be.''

"I've never read a more straightfor–
ward, tell·it-like-it-is shocking article as
'Our Shocking Character Drain.' I'm
19
and have been asking myself those big
questions like who am 1, where am 1
going, what do
I
want, etc.
It
can really
drag you down. But your artide lifted me
up.
I
haven't found me answers yct but
!'m learning more about myself and the
world tbrough your magazine. Kecp it
coming.' '
" Church Unity"
Mari B.,
Salem, Ore¡;:on
"I have read with great interest your
artide in the 1ast issue of
The
PLAIN
TRUTH Magazine.
I
am
referring to the
artide ent:icled 'Controversy Still Rages
Over Church Unity.'
There is one error which
J
would like
to correct. This concecns the oft repeated
statement and belief that Catholics 'adore'
Mary.
This is just not true, nor has it
ever been true.
If
in times past people
have understood it to
be
so,
then the prob-
1em of misunderstanding is theirs. They
should have made a greater effort to know
and understaod the teachings of the
Catholic Church.
I
do hope mat this dears up this matter.
I
send this comment to you out of a sin·
cere desire for a better understanding and
n~t
in a spirit of anger,
oc
ill·will. As

at the beginning,
J
did enjoy your
arttde.
l
thought that it was quite well
written.' '
