EXCITED TO SEE YOUR SECTION ON DIVINE HEALING

We've been attending God's church for the last 30 years and in that time we've seen God's intervention numerous times… too many to mention them all but I'll gladly name a few.  The biggest miracle was to see my oldest daughter healed of asthma.  It was originally caused from a bout of Scarlet Fever when she was 6 or 7 at the Feast in St. Petersburg.  The asthma continued to worsen over the years into her early twenties.  By then it had progressed until the attacks were actually so bad that she had become bed ridden and we called a minister over to anoint her.  She slept the rest of the day peacefully and awoke the next day with the typical after effects of the attack, sore chest and back muscles caused by struggling for air.  But within a few weeks she noticed that she didn't have to struggle for air.  She noticed she was no longer wheezing.  And when she went on a ski trip with a friend, the cold weather never triggered an attack.  When she returned home she confided in me, "Mom, I think God healed me of my asthma."  That was about 7 years ago and she's never had another attack since.  Oddly enough, the minister who anointed her doesn't believe us.  He said he doesn't believe God can effectively heal people now.

Of course I could fill several pages with healings done in our family over the years.  We always turned to God and He always took care of us.  Of course, we know that Healing is God's prerogative and that we are mortal and made to die.  But we turn to Him, knowing that as His own children, He will do what is best for us, for those around us and in the end, whatever the outcome, we accept His decisions.

It is sad to me how few people still believe in God's healing power and instead turn to the medical profession as their healer.  I realize it has to be their decision and not one made by the ministry or forced upon them.  But if it was taught more, then more people would have the idea that maybe God really is all that He says He is.

When we first began attending, my husband took the church's teachings and God's word to heart and would not allow me to take our children to the Doctor.  I was panicked over it.  Many times I fretted over their childhood illnesses but finally I began to see God's hand intervene and it gave me courage for the next time… and the next time.  My children know no other way but to get anointed.  Even for a period of time when my son quit attending church, when he got ill, he wanted to be anointed.  He knew God had healed him before… He knew God healed.  In fact, that is what brought him back in.  He was having a problem with his wisdom teeth.  The dentist told him that because of the infection, they were going to have to pull out at least three other teeth.  My son asked if there wasn't anything he could do to prevent that from happening and the dentist said it would take a miracle to save his teeth.  My son knew just where to go for that and drove over to a Local Elder's house, a close family friend, and asked to be anointed.  He still has all his teeth.  My youngest son had a spider bite on his leg, I suppose a brown recluse had bitten him.  The center of the bite was about the size of a dime and all gooey in the center and the skin all around it was black.  My husband drove him over to the minister's house and the next day the whole thing peeled off like it was a joke… pink healthy skin underneath.  As I said, I could go on and on.  God's mercy among us has be phenomenal.

I'm so glad to see someone else who believes God will heal.  I have not been able to find a minister who does heal outside of a doctor's intervention.  Some of them have become so verbal about it that I was beginning to wonder if I was making too big a deal out of it.
