upon disaster of one kind or
another with increasing
frequency
(Ezekiel 7:26)
!
And just as it took place with
that pre-existing world of
drowning deaths for billions of
people, so will death, and
worse, be for the many
millions of people today from
famine, disease epidemics,
and the
Great Tribulation!
Ezekiel 5:12.
The Flood that De-
stroyed a Pre-Existing
World
Scripture makes known only
EIGHT members of just one
family from among the billions
existing at that time survived
the Flood of Noah; the reason
why is because:
But Noah found grace in
the eyes of the LORD. This
is the genealogy of Noah.
Noah was a just man
(meaning he obeyed God’s
laws),
perfect in his gen-
erations
(the purity of race –
no interracial marriage in
contrast to the almost total
interracial marriages in that
world, Genesis 6:1-3; Luke
21:27);
Noah walked with
God
(Genesis 6:8-9).
Total Destruction Fell
on Sodom and
Gomorrah
Further, only FOUR members
of the family of Lot survived
the
burning fire and brim-
stone
that fell from the sky on
Sodom and Gomorrah –
instantaneous horrible
fiery deaths for all the
people in those cities!
Genesis 19:1-29.
Speaking of
that time, Jesus Christ said:
“Likewise as it was also in
the days of Lot: They ate,
they drank, they bought,
they sold, they planted,
they built; BUT on the day
that Lot went out of
Sodom it
RAINED Fire
and Brimstone
from
heaven and DESTROYED
them all”
(Luke 17:28-29).
It should be noted that Mar-
riage, as God intended it to be
between man and woman
(Genesis 1:27-28),
was not
mentioned here by Jesus
Christ for those cities were
mostly sodomites
(Genesis 19:4-9).
However marriages
between the same
genders undoubtedly
did take place in
those cities as they
are today.
Why the Few
Spared Each
Time?
Realizing the great
need for our understanding of
that time, together with the
desire of being saved today
from the coming horrors, the
REASON why God spared
those few people, while
destroying all of the other
people, must be emphasized!
Noah walked with God while
the world about him had sunk
into the vilest of sins.
The level of evil they
had reached was never
enough! Scripture
reveals they kept
searching for other
ways to reach the
bottom in their obses-
sion for sexual self-
gratification as well as
being in a continued
state of violence—
so
corrupted,
God could
no longer tolerate their
evil;
they had to die!
Then the LORD saw
that the wickedness
of man was great in the
earth, and that every
