LORD said, “I will destroy

from the face of the earth,

(Genesis
6:5-7).
I
magine—
of the billions of
people who then lived in that
pre-Flood world, only Noah
was found to be righteous
before his God—
only Noah!
And because he was found to
be righteous in contrast to all
others, speaks volumes why
mankind continues to exist
today!
Think—
had Noah not
been found righteous before
his Creator God this could have
meant the end of mankind!
You and I would possibly have
never known life.
A New Beginning of
Mankind
And because of that one man’s
righteousness his immediate
family was also spared making
possible the beginning once
again of mankind repopulating
the earth. Think about this one
man and why he was spared by
God:
“But Noah found grace in
the eyes of the LORD; . . .
Noah walked with God”
(Genesis 6:8-9).
The Pursuit of Sin
Destroyed Mankind
in that World
In this context, one should
soberly think about the follow-
ing Scripture and its intended
meaningful importance to all
living in today’s world in view
of the same conditions now
existing as they did at that
time:
The earth was also corrupt
before God, and the earth
was filled with violence. So
God looked upon the
earth, and indeed it was
corrupt; for all flesh had
corrupted their way on
earth
(Genesis 6:11-12).
And God said to Noah,
“The end of all flesh has
come before Me, for the
earth is filled with violence
through them; and behold,
I will destroy them with
the earth”
(Genesis 6:13).
Those Tragic Times
Summarized by the
Apostle Peter
The Apostle Peter was also led
by Jesus Christ to write of
those times as a grave warning
for God’s people; and a witness
for all others of the gravity of
sin, and its deadly conse-
quences:
“For if God . . . did NOT
spare the ancient world,
but saved Noah, one of
eight people,
a preacher of
righteousness,
bringing in
the Flood on the world of
the ungodly;
“and turning the cities of
Sodom and Gomorrah into
ashes, condemned them to
destruction
