Birthdays: The Scriptures nowhere encourage the celebration of birthdays by God’s people. Even the birthday of Jesus Christ is obscured.
The only birthday celebrations in the Bible had to do with death (Genesis 40:20; Job 1:4; 2:13, 18-19; Mark 6:21-28).
Because of this, we do not celebrate birthdays.
However, there is no wrong in acknowledging one’s birthday or to honor one who has reached great age (principles: Leviticus 19:32; Proverbs 16:31; 20:29).
